THE HOTTEST SPOTS TO DINE
IN YORKVILLE
Whether you want to eat next to the rich and famous, dine on exquisite fare, or have a unique dining experience you can’t find anywhere else, Yorkville has the restaurant for you. Set near the heart of Toronto, Yorkville is filled with amazing shops and equally amazing places to eat. If Canada gets a Michelin Star restaurant, there’s a good chance it will be in this neighbourhood. With so much to choose from, here are a few standout restaurants you should go to the next time you’re in Yorkville.
CHABROL
Taken from the streets of Paris, Chabrol might be the quaintest little bistro in Yorkville. You even need to head down a little alley to reach it. Chef Doug Penfold has created so much more than a restaurant with this endeavour. However, while the atmosphere might not fill your belly, the food certainly will. The pork liver mousse comes out with a smoothness you can’t replicate. There are a number of cheeses on offer, each more delicate and delectable than the last. When you’re finally ready to move on to mains, there are no bad choices, while the menu is frequently changing, keep your fingers crossed that chicken is on the menu. Both the galantine and ballotine preparations are sensational. Given the perfect setting, you can spend hours eating here or just falling in love.
KASA MOTO
If you’re looking for a meal that will look as good as it tastes, this is the spot for you. While you might feel silly taking your phone out at such an upscale establishment, no one would fault you. The presentations here are absolutely stunning. From the maki rolls to the ocean-fresh sashimi, whatever you order here is sure to delight your palate. The menu was even recently overhauled to ensure the offerings are fresh and in tune with the times. Detail is what really sets this sushi spot apart. Everything from the unique cocktails to the soft music playing in the background add to the ambiance of this wonderful Yorkville destination.
THE OXLEY
There’s pub food and then there’s Yorkville pub food. Enter The Oxley. This upscale British gastropub is the perfect blend of mainstream cuisine with an upscale twist. If you want a place to talk football (soccer) and enjoy a pint with your mates without having the same old food, this is the place to go. They have delicious croquettes stuffed with mushrooms and Stilton cheese to give it an unexpected flavour. For a Sunday night roast feel, tuck in to their slow roasted lamb shoulder with all the fixings. You won’t leave hungry or unsatisfied no matter what you order. Couple that with some friends and Pimm’s and you’ve got a recipe for a bloody good night.
BONUS TIP: SUMMER’S ICE CREAM
Since the summer of 1984 Summer’s has been serving some of the best ice cream in Toronto. Using the same base recipe since the start, this mom and pop shop uses locally sourced ingredients for their unique fan favourites. They have a rotating roster of 100 flavours, 40 of which are usually available at any given time. Unique flavours like Toronto Pothole (a take on Rocky Road), and Blueberry Cheesecake are why people come. The amazing taste and fantastic service are why people come back, time after time.
With so much to do, close to so many of our great communities, we hope you enjoy the home you’ve chosen.
